About jinaa

Jinaa means life. We built this platform because good food — and knowing where to find it — is one of life's great pleasures.

Our story

Built for vegetarians, by vegetarians

We're vegetarians who love food. Not just the easy options — the whole, glorious spectrum of plant-based cooking across every culture and cuisine on earth.

The problem? Finding genuinely good vegetarian options is still harder than it should be. Standard review sites lump vegetarian options into a footnote.

So we built jinaa. A place where reviews are written from the vegetarian perspective — where we ask the questions that matter: Is this menu built with vegetarians in mind, or were we bolted on as an afterthought?

We believe the world's great cuisines contain extraordinary vegetarian traditions. Indian, Japanese, Mexican, Italian — these are not cuisines that lack plant-based depth. Jinaa is here to celebrate that.

How it works

Three numbers. One confident choice.

Every restaurant on jinaa is scored on three criteria. The overall score is a weighted average designed to reflect what matters most to vegetarians.

🌿 Veg Score (50%)

How genuinely vegetarian-friendly is this restaurant? A 5 means the menu is fully or predominantly plant-based. A 1 means vegetarians are an afterthought.

🍽 Variety (30%)

Does the menu offer real choice, or just one token option? We look for breadth across starters, mains, and sides — not just whether the pasta can be made veggie.

🏷 Menu Clarity (20%)

Are vegetarian and vegan dishes clearly labelled? Is it easy to order with confidence, without interrogating the staff?

Overall Score = Veg Score × 50% + Variety × 30% + Menu Clarity × 20%

Scores range from 1–5. Anything above 4.5 is marked "Exceptional".
